This past Thursday I shot Evan and Jamie in the Pearl District. Here are the photos I’ve processed so far:

March 23, 2008I have a Facebook page
March 20, 2008In the last couple years Facebook has grown in leaps and bounds. From first starting to offer photo albums, to hosting videos, to opening facebook to third-party applications. The newest addition is facebook pages. As a photographer this is a pretty great feature that will let my work get seen by even more people (for free), especially considering almost everyone has a facebook these days. You should check out my facebook page and become a “fan”. It’s just another way of staying updated on my new work. You can even read my blog entries on there and check out my short films.

March 17, 2008Samantha
March 13, 2008It’s been awhile since I’ve done a model shoot. For the past couple of weeks I have been focusing more on shooting isolated objects for istockphoto. Today I broke the dry spell. I shot Samantha from ModelMayhem. We shot in Downtown Portland and over in SE Portland right next to the old Washington HS. Here’s some photos from the shoot:

Angels in Action: Portland
March 9, 2008A week from this Monday I was browsing the job postings on craigslist and I ran across one titled: Photographer Needed: Cirque du Soleil Angel Action. An hour later I had a job working with a theater group, Theater MAMA, that promotes Cirque du Soleil. The Director, Michelin told me he had received a ton of responses from really talented photographers so he asked me to recommend some photographers to make it easier on him. Turns out the person I’m about to recommend, Ben Klusman, sends me an email recommending me for the job. Good to know the photographers you think highly of think highly of you as well. But then that’s the portland Photography community for you, all great people. The job entailed two 15-hour days of angels promoting Cirque du Soleil: Corteo throughout Portland. My job was to photograph them. Along with getting paid we all got a free ticket to go see the show on Friday. The show was amazing. Amazing doesn’t really do it justice actually. To me, the acts they do are more impressive than Jesus waking on water or Moses parting the red sea because the things these performers do, they do with only their mortal human bodies. They do not have the advantage of God snapping his fingers and instantly giving someone power. Saturday and Tuesday I photographed the angels promoting. I met some pretty amazing people during these two days which made the whole experience pretty enjoyable. I signed an autograph to a guy about my age because I think he thought I was part of the show (he didn’t ask though so I didn’t feel like spoiling his excitment). Our angels got to ride on a fire truck, have dance parties in front of bars, hold up traffic, and many other pretty humorous things. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves though. As always go to my flickr for all of the photos.
