My friend Kennedy had been sporting a handlebar mustache for some time that I finally decided we should capitalize on it and do a shoot. He had a couple of wigs and 70s/80s outfits laying around so we threw those into the mix as well.

Malia is another one of my 2010 senior photo reps. We started our shoot in the NW industrial area of PDX at one of my favorite spots when the sun is starting to go down. The fence in this location creates amazing shadows on the ground as well as an awesome bokeh. After that we headed over to a park in N Portland that many people refer to as “Heaven”. It overlooks the Willamette river and you can also catch a glimpse of downtown Portland.

I did an athletic lifestyle shoot a little less than a month ago down on the East Waterfront.
Model: Ann Waid

I did another shoot with Ann last week. We started in front of a white backdrop. I then added a blue gel to the backdrop light to turn the white backdrop blue.

It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged. A lot has happened and I have a lot of photos to post from the last month. I unexpectedly traveled to Florida a couple weeks ago to see my grandma who had just gone through open heart surgery (she’s doing much better now) and had an ultimate frisbee tournament in Bend two weekends ago so I haven’t had much time to spend blogging. I should be posting more regularly now and will be posting photos I’ve taken over the past couple months that haven’t seen the light of the internet yet.
I kicked off my 2010 senior portraits last week with Keiler. He’s one of my ‘10 senior photo reps. He attends Beaverton HS and is very involved in theater. His acting experience made him a natural in front of the camera. We shot up in the industrial area of NW Portland and then meandered down to the Pearl district.
I still have openings for 2010 senior photo reps in Portland and surrounding cities. If you are interested in becoming a senior photo rep contact me at isaac@kovalproductions.com . Make sure to include why you’d be a good senior rep, what activities you are involved in at your high school, and a current photo of yourself. Some of the perks of being a senior photo rep are a complementary photo shoot and cash for every referral you send my way. More details when you email me.
